Asymmetric

Yes. My belly button points to the right. big deal, Symmetry is overrated. Trust me though, this picture accentuates my disproportional outtie. Its not quite this bad, or so Brent says... A little tummy update: As of now I am scheduled for an induction this Wednesday the 13th. I am shooting for a VBAC (google it if you don't understand:) so keep happy positive thoughts for me. Yippee, baby Miles is almost here! Too bad he couldn't come today--10/10/10? yeah?

P.S. You know you're emotionally absurd when friendly strangers ask too many questions about your pregnancy and the baby; and you promptly become suspicious of them and wonder if they are plotting to steal your baby. I'm just sayin'

Beach Ho 2010

We had another successful year (duh.) at the beach house... Here are some pictures of us hanging around the beach, like bums.
We visited the tide pools at Laguna Beach to see what cool things we could find; the starfish definitely won. Jack thinks it was his starfish, so I framed a print of it and put it in his room.
Let the countdown for beach ho 2011 begin!

uncle billy

Every year around Christmas time, I giddily watch 'Its a wonderful Life' and every year I get so annoyed at Uncle Billy for losing all that money in the envelope....
Well today I sympathize with that forgetful, lovable old man--I lost an envelope of my own with the rest of my grocery money for the month inside. I won't go into the details of it all but there was panic, tears and frustration. As I swept the grocery store I couldn't help but stare at the people passing me, and mentally accuse them of stealing MY grocery money. I just hope whoever found the envelope needs it more than I. and hey, at least I didn't lose my kid! (there was a gal at customer service with me who couldn't find her child) This year I won't be so hard on poor Uncle Billy.

The letter H.

For a while Jack has known most of the alphabet and their sounds; but lately he has really become obsessed with singing the alphabet (the parts he knows), identifying letters from signs, and making his own letters out of, say sucker sticks... I'd say his favorite letter is "B" but he has learned how to draw the letter "H" so out with the old and in with the new! I see H's everywhere--The driveway, the backyard, on my rug, on our screen door, and of course on his drawing board. Luckily no walls, yet. I have no idea how/when he figured out how to draw a H. I don't really work on writing letters with him except for his name, and he can write a J. The funny thing is I heard him talking about the letter "H" and making the sound while pulling weeds yesterday but didn't think anything of it. He was happily drawing with chalk on our driveway. Then later that day Brent came home and said "when did Jack learn how to write a H?" I realized he had drawn H's in the frontyard the backyard and anywhere chalk would take. Hmmm. I wonder when the novelty of the letter H will wear off.

I know what you're all thinking--"Toy Story much?" but I promised some pictures to grandma, and seeing how she bought these jammers I couldn't let her down. Even though it did take a good month or two.
Jack HAD to put both sets of pajamas on. He is like his mother; can't make up his mind.
THE Buzz Lightyear. space ranger.
Sheriff Woody.
Jack's new bike (he originally asked for a pink one but...) this is a push or balance bike and is supposed to help train a kid to ride a bike sooner. but we'll see.
Jacks attempt at dressing himself. pure awesomeness, yep that's butt cheek.
I'm so happy he is mine, he is exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to meet peanut #2, I can feel him moving now. Jack keeps asking if he's hiding.

Ultrasound results are in!

Everything looks great, which is always fantastic to hear and of course its just amazing to actually see your baby floating around in there. Now we can't wait to meet this little guy! I keep telling Jack that he's getting a little brother and that there is a boy in mommies tummy. His reply is "no boy mom, you're girl!" He thinks we're saying that I am a boy...he has been on a kick lately identifying who is a girl and who is a boy. Oh, and this baby boy is way more chill than Jack, or maybe we just saw him right after nap time:)

Winco happenings

Today I ventured out to Winco, a seriously fantastic new grocery store that's come into our area... I wanted to get there fairly early seeing how I sent Brent, coupons in hand earlier in the week only to find out there was over an hour wait...not worth it. So I pulled on my clothes this morning sans shower, and threw on a hat. (don't worry I brushed my teeth!) Jack, well I just left him in his "Buzz Lightyear" pajamas, froggie boots, snot dried face, and out the door we went! I was rather excited about my great parking spot that I forgot to button my pants. I'm totally at the awkward stage of pregnancy where I put my clothes on standing up of course, and think "yeah, this works" but then when I find myself sitting down, it just doesn't. Plus I have this nagging feeling that I am hurting the baby with my tight clothing. I'm crazy. I hurry and button up, and things are good. I find myself on such a money saving high that I don't care that there are a ton of annoying people around me. not today anyway. I was getting my .98 cents fruity pebbles or else... Like they say, all good things come to an end, and I knew I had to make my way to the cash register fast, as my "buzz" (hour later) was quickly wearing off. Hardly any wait, but as I stood there loading groceries on the belt this cute old lady walked by and picked up Jack's boots that had fallen off. I thanked her and she began to talk to Jack, (cute) then she got out a tissue and began wiping his face ever so sweetly for like 2 minutes. Yeah that stuff was caked on. She then said "your mom should always pack a kleenex" still wiping. So true, and so hilarious. I pretty much thanked her again for scolding me and couldn't help but wonder what she did with Jacks nasty tissue. She didn't give it to me and I didn't offer to take it from her. Normally I wipe my kid's face but we were trying to go for the "I really don't give a crap!" look. If I had wiped Jack's face then we clearly couldn't have pulled this off. Keep reading, it gets better. As I'm loading groceries into my car I see a car waiting for my parking spot. I hate when people do this because then I feel rushed and bad and so many other things. I finally get Jack out of the cart and lo and behold he peed his pants. He now wears normal undies, because he is potty trained, can't you tell? eek! car is still waiting, so I rip off his pants and put him in the car seat pant-less; which to me sounds fantastic plus I don't want to clean his car seat cover. I'm lazy. Soooo if any of you find yourself at Winco, make sure you wipe off the cart before inserting your child, because remember? I don't bring tissues with me, so I didn't have anything to wipe the seat with.
