What are you guys watching? WE are watching Finding Nemo over here. Everyday. Promise, everyday. We just can't get enough of Dory. She is our favorite; Jack even said so.

Bop-uh-da Bop-uh-da Baaah!

Farmington Triathlon Amy, Becca and I participated in a triathlon as a team last month. It was fun, freakin hard, and super enlightening. (how do people do those all by themselves--Lindsay?) Amy did the swim, I did the run, and Becca did the bike. My favorite part of the race: when I heard my sister talking to someone, not knowing that I was standing by say "oh shoot, don't tell Markelle" I of course immediately chimed in "don't tell me what?" The lady Becca was talking to was telling her how her son who runs college cross country told her that this run (and bike) is one of the harder races he does. lovely. This all occurred while Amy was swimming just minutes before my debut! Even though this was only six miles...by far (way far) the hardest race to date I've run. Amy's favorite part of the race: When we arrived, they already had a buoy set out. so we were thinking "cool, you just have to swim to the buoy, around it, and then back." We continued this positive banter trying to talk Amy up because let's face it the swim is probably the scariest event. Later on Shad comes to watch and comments "that can't be the swim! that's way too close." Literally minutes before the race starts men on motor boats start pulling two other buoys farther out in the lake. Poor Amy, we quickly had to find more reasons why this was "better." She of course rocked it and all said worrying above was in vain! Becca's favorite part of the race: I think about half way through her event, she dropped her chain and spent the next 5-10 minutes putting it back on...oh, and her nemesis' name was Rebecca too! (just this random girl that Becca took turns with passing each other back and forth.) ***I didn't actually ask Amy and Becca what their favorite part of the race was, rather all three parts are MY favorites.***

Finding shoes for my kid is hard. really hard. I shopped in denial too long and purchased far too many shoes that I KNEW probably wouldn't work. I just kept thinking "but they're his size!" Yes that was and is true that length wise ALL Jack's shoes fit. It is the other dimensions like width and depth that are the problem. So shopping and holding shoes up to Jack's foot is no longer enough. No, I have to actually put them on his feet. SO if my dimpled darling is not with me, I need to refrain from buying EVEN if they are really really cute and and I think "yeah, they might be wide/deep enough" The point of this post is not to poke fun or humiliate my kid about his feet, (except now that we are on the subject-he's got some funky toe nails. yes like mommies.) but to receive input from other parents, guardians, knowledgeable shoe persons, etc. what are some good shoes out there for children? Thanks so much, all.

Beach Ho 2009

Here I am finally posting about our wonderful, much anticipated Carter family vacation to the beach house. ahhh, I just love that word--beach. Anyhoo, as you can imagine all our pictures are of our bug; Jack. If you are so lucky to be sitting in or around Jack's vicinity then perhaps you too made some of our photo shots.

These dogs are hilarious. They really like each other. Most days Biskit will come over, sit on our porch and bark until I let Sam out to play. From there they either hang out here or run over to Biskit's house. I love it! If Sam ever runs off; I know where he's headed...to his BFF--Biskit!
