For the grandparents...

Easter last year:(kind of boring)

Easter this year:(kind of awesome)
The Saturday before Easter we went to the Carters and Allphins for a little Easter egg hunt. Jack enjoyed finding the eggs but could only hold two at a time. He didn't want to put the ones he had in the basket. So he walked around looking at all of the eggs saying "ball" Towards the end he got the hang of it and was able to let go of his two eggs and find more. It was about that time he realized there was candy in the eggs. He thought that was pretty cool. Here are some pictures of us after church on Sunday. The first two are of him playing peek a boo! Sometimes he misses his eyes though. Oh and the last picture is of Jack making this really hilarious face. He knows we all laugh every time he does it.

These chips
And this tv show
do not mix! This last week Brent and I decided to catch up on Lost, while he decided to polish off an entire bag of chips--the really crunchy kind, because they are baked and not fried. It reminded me of that one commercial where the guy can't hear anything anyone says because he is chewing away on his cereal. Oh well at least they were the "healthy" kind and now I have an excuse to watch them again...

Quick, get out while you can!

I actually took these pictures of Jack before the last big snow storm. Crazy Utah Spring weather--beautiful and warm one day, cold and snowing the next day. Jack loves being outside and playing with Sam. I love it when they chase each other around. Anyway here are some photos of us taking advantage of a warm day...while it lasted.

just spying on the neighbors.
what do you think, should we get him a sandbox for Easter?

some things I've been thinking lately...

  • Waking up is hard to do. why is it so hard to get out of bed?
  • I have all of april to finish up projects/spring cleaning
  • Why am I not training for my half marathon--Again! I had really good intentions this time around.
  • I want a foot zone...ahhh, I love getting my feet zoned. Its equivilant to a foot massage, but with purpose and healing.
  • I am absolutely positively pumped to see wicked!
  • I'm really hoping this whole screaming and throwing a fit anytime my child can't play with something he wants is a phase. please tell me its a phase.
  • Definitely dreading swimsuit season. Boo!
  • Kind of want a job. one that pays!

Balls, balls, and more balls...

Jack's first true word is, can you guess it? yup-- ball! I think it is adorable when he says it because he gets so excited every time he exclaims ball! a ball! He now loves the produce section of the grocery store because there are sooo many "balls" such as apples, onions, oranges, etc. Also, most things round are considered balls at our house. I love watching Jack change and learn new things. Here are some pics of him with one of his favorite balls, daddy's of course!

Jack's very first

Wowsers this year has flown by. I can't believe my baby boy is one! It has been a lot of fun and pretty hard at times. He still loves him some peas, still prefers men over women, still HATES to lay still, still has chubby hands, still is a people watcher and still loves his mommy and daddy even though they left him for an entire week while they went to Hawaii! We had a simple get together with family for Jack's birthday. He had...

party hats and chocolate cake
(he can take about five steps now.)
Adorable cousin Jake come,
Burning pinwheels (Jack had a pin wheel themed party and I was worried they looked like the swastika symbol; then to boot one of my pinwheels caught on fire. This may be more funny to those who've seen the "hardball"episode on 30 Rock. sorry could NOT find a clip anywhere)
and a womans wallet... what?! he wanted one. Really though he absolutely loves my wallet and despite the snickers and comments made from the crowd, he loved it! Now my wallet and it's contents don't have to be strung around the house. he has his own man purse!
