stencil shmencil

soooo, ever since my friend (Amy) showed me some sweet Harry Potter tees on Etsy, I've been itching to make my very own.  I made these shirts the same way I did Jack's "2" shirt.  The best part is that I am still using the same roll of freezer paper.  That stuff will last you forever!

Originally I was going to use the freezer stencil method and paint a gold lightning bolt but then I figured a little dimension would be cute too.  So I used some felt.  Now if only hadn't used the zig zag stitch...

I thought it fitting this should be seen as he's walking away.

well this just makes me giddy.  This here is for Brooklyn.  I made a black one for Van.  Now it's Miles' turn.

I am re-reading Harry Potter 7 in preparation for the second part of the last movie, so here are some more ideas that I have in store:

I ♥ Ron or Sirius
(these two are my 'Harry Potter' crushes)

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good
(this one might have to wait till I get this baby)

Expecto Patronum! with an outline of a stag underneath

I must not tell lies

Dumbledore's Army

as a side note, when I first put the shirt on Jack he said "oh, like Lightning McQueen."  Whatever Jack,  soon you will understand it's true awesomeness.

I realize that I have little white triangles in the corner of each stair step.  This occurred when we got new carpet.  so back off, we just got new carpet like last summer.  okay, it's officially on our "to-do" list. Can you tell I'm just a tad insecure about my triangles?

    well said.

I needed this today.  such a good reminder.

*I got this quote card from mamaswhoknow.blogspot.com

    hey Steve,

"...did you bring me pizza Steve?"

"That leg's gonna have to come off!"

Not kidding. I'm nursing Miles and this kid comes into the room.  Multiplicity quotes went flying through my head, especially when Jack broke out the saw(a plastic one)...which I didn't get pictures of.

    shoulda, coulda, woulda

    I should have bought these:

    INSTEAD of these:

However, even though I'm rockin' hand-me-down cleats from High School that have holes on both toes fixed with tape;  I am really excited for my nude pumps.  If only soccer cleats came in beige.

    my little puzzler

So Jack has been into puzzles.  Like more than t.v. which is huge for this kid.  (He will watch most anything)  He has about seven puzzles and can do them all now.  I suppose I should get him some more.

    showers

February was full of baby showers. It was so fun. My sister Rebecca and sister (in law) Jen are due at the end of the month, only days apart really and I just love welcoming new family members! Can't wait to meet the babies, and neither can their parents. I'm just the aunt.

First up: Jen & baby Van I was lucky enough to help Alicia, Janet and Jamie with Jen's shower. It turned out really well, and of course I didn't get any shots myself. But here are some I stole. (thanks Alicia) We are pretty excited to add to the Carter clan, and for Miles to have a buddy. Second up: Rebecca & baby girl Hensley Rebecca's shower was the next weekend down in NM. Can I just say that I am so excited to meet this little girl? It's been fun for our family to have Rebecca and Bo recieve their first little bundle. (only four more, right Bo?) Anyhoo it was nice to mingle with the Hensleys, and throw a shower with them. They did awesome. This time I actually took pictures!
